UN Cuts Food Aid to Darfur

In what is , in my opinion, the most difficult place to be in the world today, the U.N. World Food Programme has cut it's food ration allocations by half. It is really quite simple:

"Haven't the people of Darfur suffered enough? We are adding insult to injury," Mr Morris said as he explained that despite appeals to donors, the WFP has received only a third of the money it needs.

Poverty, to this extent, simply should not exist in a world where there has never been greater capacity to combat it. The world has truly failed the Darfur region and if we do not act quickly to save these most helpless of people, they will not survive to judge us later during happier days, only history will be around to judge us for they will all perish without so much as a sound, it seems. By visiting this blog, it is apparent that you have interest in helping people less fortunate than yourselves, but poverty and the lack of being able to basically sustain yourself is a global issue, please stay tuned to this blog as we educate you about our own cause at YOUR DIL, while not forgetting about the world around us and the help they need as well.

YOUR DIL partners with PayPal

Finally! PayPal is to online payments what Richard Simmons is to diets, you cannot mention one without thinking of the other. Or is that just me? In any case, YOUR DIL is now accepting donations via PayPal. It's a company that everyone trusts and that just makes things simple for everyone. Here at YOUR DIL we strive to ensure that everyone can contribute to their own capacity and will, you can donate as much or as little as you would like. Imagine, $50 educates a child for a year! By way of long division, a quantum physicist could therefore (if equipped with an electron microscope and a supercomputer) calculate that $25 would educate a child for 6 months. OK, I'm gonna go power down the equipment now, but please contribute today!

Spring into Action with YOUR DIL

YOUR DIL thanks everyone who attended our “Spring into Action” event on April 6, 2006 at Movida. It was a highly successful night that helped raise over $5,000 dollars to help fund the education of underprivileged children in Pakistan.

To provide some context as to how that money is able to make a real difference in the lives of the children, we can fund the education of 100 children for 1 year or make 20 children literate for life (5 years of education). Your contributions will make a significant impact on the lives of many children who lack a basic outlet from the impoverished lives they lead. Additionally, if each of you donates just another $10 (using the link below), we can educate another 50 children this year!.

We hope, in addition to providing an entertaining evening, we were able to present you with a more comprehensive understanding of the problems that so many children face in Pakistan.

YOUR DIL looks forward to seeing you at our other fundraising events and that your inspiration to help make a difference continues to prompt others to join this worthy cause.

Thanks Again!!
