UN Cuts Food Aid to Darfur

In what is , in my opinion, the most difficult place to be in the world today, the U.N. World Food Programme has cut it's food ration allocations by half. It is really quite simple:

"Haven't the people of Darfur suffered enough? We are adding insult to injury," Mr Morris said as he explained that despite appeals to donors, the WFP has received only a third of the money it needs.

Poverty, to this extent, simply should not exist in a world where there has never been greater capacity to combat it. The world has truly failed the Darfur region and if we do not act quickly to save these most helpless of people, they will not survive to judge us later during happier days, only history will be around to judge us for they will all perish without so much as a sound, it seems. By visiting this blog, it is apparent that you have interest in helping people less fortunate than yourselves, but poverty and the lack of being able to basically sustain yourself is a global issue, please stay tuned to this blog as we educate you about our own cause at YOUR DIL, while not forgetting about the world around us and the help they need as well.
